Mani - A Gem of my friends : A Tribute

Mani Chandra Khati (27.4.1947-10.3.2014) - "Mitraharuma Mani - Ek Shraddhanjali" is a tribute to my childhood friend. Picture at right is taken in 1961 with his name written on its back Mani Kumar Khati later changed to Mani Chandra Khati for the School Final Examination. He was a Mani - a Gem of my friends indeed! Rest in Peace, Friend.

Commonwealth Day was first celebrated here on Monday 8 March 2004 and also the World Women's Day when for the first time a Woman was the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. It is a decade now and time in the memento ticks on and the memory lingers on sweet and sour ! Welcome Speech of the Secretary on the occasion next year 2005 from the book 'Sikkim - Three Decades towards Democracy'. This year it falls on Monday 10 March 2014 and the theme is "Team Commonwealth." Happy Women's Day!
